I used to monitor my sugar with one of those little meters that use the chip/card/thingie. My numbers were always a little high, but not outrageously so. Usually around 250. But, yeah I need to get a little control over it.

250 is way too high. 70 is Ideal, but no lower. With meds and insulin I'm hanging around 100.

I just tested mine, fasting this morning, and it's at 97. But these meters are considered accurate as long as they are within 20%. So I could be more like 115.
When I visit the doc, I'm always at around the 100 mark with their tests. sometimes over, sometimes under. But I have a little numbness in my big toes these days anyway. A healthy person should be in the 70-99 range when fasting. |
