No. At least not at Greenwich Leisure Centre, which was my last swimming port of call.
Sadly, things like that give them an excuse to tear down perfectly good old buildings. Well, in Aylesbury at least. The old slipper baths? Gone. The part that remained through my childhood - the Vale outdoor pool? Gone. The Reg Maxwell Pool and sun terrace? Ah, see for yourselves. When this vid was made the electricity was still on. Six years after it closed. Eejits.

I don't like change. Can you tell?

Then again I didn't like the Reg Maxwell - I learned to swim there - barely! I hated it and used to cry when I had to go to lessons! Horrible echoey smelly, foot-plastery place.

Luckily, Greenwich's was a wonderful place - listed, so they had to work round it. It was always a positive experience (before Aqua Aerobics) to lie in a dead mans float and see the curve of the original roof.
