Well, Steve beat me to it, but I think a Razor scooter would be good. They are easier to ride than a bike, and once you learn how to balance on one, riding a bike is pretty easy. They are a lot of fun too. Our 5 year old son became an ace on the scooter, and when we gave him a bike, he just got on and rode it.
