These days I write when the urge takes me (not so often whilst doing an essay based degree :P) and I have no intention of it ever going anywhere but the net. or MyDocs. I would say I am a better writer now than before.

After publishing some research papers and doing a dissertation I lost the desire to write anything that long that had to be reviewed by someone else. I have an online friend who is a popular mystery writer, http://annefrasier.blogspot.com/ , her stories about the publisher have been brutal. No thanks.
