Is this how students are taught argumentation in school?

Have schools be come self-censored because of the PC police?
There's no point in trading insults. People become frustrated when a person with opposing views doesn't seem to be able to explain the context of their argument very well. I would suggest that this would mean the person hasn't learned very much about debating or in your words, argumentation.

If you want to learn about ideas and issues, you trade ideas and issues. It is highly inflamitory to suggest that people have lower moral standards simply because they have a different world view.

Perhaps if you address these 'issues and ideas' you may have more success with the people here.
