That's werewolves, silly.
 I think that, like in a hotel, you have to invite the vampire into the space in which you personally live; that is to say, through the access to your actual apartment/room/dwelling space. Otherwise, vampires would be running amok in every public place in town, and since they aren't, I believe my view of things here to be accurate.
