Vampire Question
I live in an old house that has been converted to 2 flats. We share a front door and an entrance hall, then the door to my flat is to the left and my neighbour's is up the stairs.
If she was fooled into letting a vampire cross our shared threshold, would my flat still be inviolate, or would the vampire be able to come & go at will? And yes I know they don't exist. But if they did...... |
The vampire would have access to the hallway and your neighbor's flat, but not your flat.
See the first paragraph of section 6c of the Nosferatu Accord for more detailed information. |
IIRC,
It's a threshold thing. They cannot cross a threshold without being invited. IMO, the moment they are invited into a building, they can go anywhere inside that building, as long as they do not have to exit and re-enter through another door. |
I am concerned about how the threshold is interpreted. For tax and utility bill purposes we are counted as two separate dwellings. But a vampire may count the front door to the street as the threshold to both our homes and polish us off accordingly.
I am wily & cunning enough not to invite a vampire in of course. |
Your door represents a separate dwelling/household.
Vampires, however, are more wily and cunning even than you. Just a suggestion, though ... if the gasman comes to your house after midnight, and you don't smell gas, it just might be the Vampire your neighbor let in trying for a snack. |
Vampires are annoying. They call you up, invite you to coffee, but what they've really got in mind is some nice neck nibbling. Irritating bunch.
*wish for vampire smilie--perhaps for Halloween?* :) |

Is there a Lee Ho Fooks Chinese restaurant nearby?

That's werewolves, silly. ;)
I think that, like in a hotel, you have to invite the vampire into the space in which you personally live; that is to say, through the access to your actual apartment/room/dwelling space. Otherwise, vampires would be running amok in every public place in town, and since they aren't, I believe my view of things here to be accurate. |
Well, to answer your question, it would keep out vampires unless they are accompanied by lawyers.
The solution to this is to drive a wooden stake through the heart. This also works on vampires. |
