I used to have one.

Before we were married, my future mother-in-law called me a "two-bit floozy" and told me she never wanted to speak to me again. Later she apologized to my future husband (though never to me) and the storm mostly blew over, though relations obviously remained strained. A few months later, my husband told her we were engaged, and I shit you not, it was a complete 180 right that afternoon--all of a sudden she was acting like we'd been best friends forever.

Nowadays we do alright. There are still occasional personality clashes, but there has been no fighting or name-calling since.
