Art imitates death

Went about the shire today taking pictures of art and dead things.

Let's start with the best. It could just as well be in the WTF thread.

One rarely sees a typo on a tombstone, but this cannot possibly be true. I mean it's bad enough to go through life with a moniker like Bohmfalk, but I guess the payoff is surviving to the ripe old age of 141???

Awesome tree. I reminds of the hippie days when we would melt a bunch of candles in a Matuese Rose wine bottle:

The tree holds many secrets. Look at how the roots have grown over the bricks:

The 'tumors' are reminiscent of a Roman fountain:

These trees are common in this region. I'm surprised they're not erecting a shrine to the Virgin Mary here:

On to the art. This blue thing caught my eye and stomped on it:

We came upon this vortex thing:

The Artist:

You're gonna need something bigger than that dude:

The ass end of this thing:

Your guess is as good as mine:

Mardi Gras-goyle:

Let's end this with a Texas icon: a roadkill 'dillo:

Great pictures! Looks like the new camera is doing well. I love the armadillo (RIP).

When my cousin died last year, two of the pallbearers who had been engaged didn't show for the funeral. So, at the last second, my brother and I were asked to step in. As such, at the grave site, we were prefectly positioned at the foot of the casket to see that my cousin's last name was misspelled on the outer box thingy (crypt? I'm not up on my mortuary terminology). We had a quick whispered discussion over whether we should tell anyone--after all, it was going to be buried--and if so, whom. (My aunt seemed an extremely bad candidate. I ended up pulling the funeral director aside, and he promised to have it taken care of.)

The idea that a creature as cool as an armadillo is NBN's part of the country's possom is kind of sad to me.

Excellent, as usual, both in picture quality and subject matter.
I see Shakespeare in the tree.

Damnitall...now I want Matuese Rose.

If you look closely at the blue metal sculpture, you can see Han Solo frozen in there.
