I live in Richmond!!
Yeah the damage was incredible. There's one part of town that's inbetween two hills, called Shockoe Bottom, and the flooding was massive there. 5 people drowned. Cars and trucks and tractor trailors floating down the street, etc. After the storm there was a huge mudpile filling up a parking lot and burying cars. go to www.timesdispatch.com and watch the slideshow on there. Some of the pictures of washedout roads are incredible.

Whew...that doesn't look like my parent's neighborhood or my old neighborhood. That really has to suck though, look and how nice that lot's yard is. I wonder how many people might have to apply for LOMAs after this.
