sounds fishy to me... if remember correctly from my many red cross cpr and lifeguarding classes, you are suppossed to start cpr asap because every minute that goes by w/o the brain getting oxygen, it is becoming damaged.

Not if you get the brain cold enough.

It's the tissue degredatation that results from the oxygen starvation that causes brain damage.

Right, I just never knew about that whole keep it cool and it'll be fine deal. I guess as long as you just keep it cold but don't freeze the tissue?

Right, the trick is in cold but not frozen. If the tissues freeze, the resulting expansion when ice forms destroys the cell walls.

You don't want your brain getting freezer burn.
