it's not just you - the apple airport update 3.4 is rotten to the core. If you've used software update in the alst 2 weeks updated and are having range problems, IP problems, or firewall problems, you can uninstall the update by following the direction at this site:

No problems here......
Airport Extreme.

it covers airport extreme as well. That's what i have on my G4 powerbook, and it completely jacked up my connection.

When my son got his (*)&)()& Macintosh, I decided to get a wireless router so that I could hook his computer into the network. I consider the Airport, for about 1 second, before buying a wireless/wired router from Linksys for less than half the price.

i'm running the d-link here, and the update went wacky on my side. It's a card software problem, not a base software problem.

Hello!

The range appears to be a bit decreased. I agree. Now I get one bar where I got two with the WAPs in my neighborhood.

The airport may beexpensive but it is damn nice and dead easy to administer.

Apple just released 3.4.1 which aparantly addresses these issues.

Heya,

I have 3.4.1 here on my PBG4 and it gives me back the range I need.

Now if it had an external antenna connector :)

I thought all models had one?

The 12" I have here doesn't. It's got an internal antenna, which is quite good.
