Hit CTRL + ALT + Up Arrow and your Windows desktop should return to landscape mode. ...
Right click on the desktop and selct Display settings.
Choose a screen to fix if you have multiple monitors attached. ...
Select Landscape from the orientation menu.
Click Apply (or OK)

I've effectively taught everyone here (at work) that prank.
monster • Mar 13, 2018 11:26 am
is CTRL ALT UP a toggle for that then?

under other circumstances I'd experiment, but today i just really need my computer to do what i want it to do. i.e. help me communicate with the outside world and keep me entertained :)

CTRL-ALT-[direction that you want to be "up"]. IE, CTRL-ALT-DOWN is upside down.

Same, then... ever since my main work PC is a laptop I keep docked, but also take to meetings, I use that dumb mousepad thing without even thinking about it. I don't even plug a mouse into my laptop at home, now.

You made the mistake of buying a Windows laptop.
lumberjim • Mar 13, 2018 7:45 pm
That's where you're wrong, bub.

She stole that laptop

I'd still feel cheated. She took the risk of stealing it for a piece of crap.

Don't start that shit please. It's condescending and rude, not to mention poorly timed.

I'm sorry. I was trying to be funny. I didn't mean to cause offence.

OK so now I made it type right to left without doing anything complex. I fixed it by restarting, but WHAT THE FUCK DID I DO? This was in outlook email.....
sexobon • Aug 29, 2018 10:56 pm
Maybe you accidentally typed the shortcut?

Ctrl + Shift to change Text direction:

For right-to-left, press: Ctrl + Right.Shift.
For left-to-right, press: Ctrl + Left.Shift.

At least this should get you back to L-R if it happens again.
