I don't usually sign into chrome, but I did last night. All of a sudden my bookmarks bar reverted to one that was about a year old, along with my password collection. Oh. OK, I'll just sign out and things will be back to the way they were (memories, misty water colored...)
NOT.
I closed google and reopened it thinking that it would go back to usual (I was thinking that maybe it was like a .db file or a .ini file that would renew itself when re-launched.
NOPE.
Chrome keeps a one session back up file that gets over-written the moment you close Chrome.
So as far as I can tell there is no way for me to recover lost passwords and bookmarks from Chrome.
suspect that the last time I synced must have been a year ago as refelcted by the current bookmark line-up.
