At Mr. Clod's last employer, just before he left, they crossed the line into having 1 petabyte of storage. A coworker took a photo of himself in front of the racks, saying, "I'm just going to stick this photo on my resume. This is me; this is 1 petabyte of storage. I am qualified."

That will be impressive for another 5 years.

I can picture the same dude standing in front of a 100 MB rack, all proud of himself, 25 years ago.

I remember looking at my first hard drive and asking myself : What am I going to put into this huge space (30 MegaBytes)?

That was 25 years ago.

Next year I'll probably evolve to a NAS system of at least 2 TeraBytes.
