Very cool. Now let's guess who will buy it.

I'll guess Sir Richard Branson

In Great Britain, televisions are a lot older than ours. We've only been a country for what, 235 years? Our old televisions are nothing in comparison to Great Britain's old televisions!

Ahhh yes, made entirely of wood, wasn't it? The TV was hard enough to move around, but the wooden cable was a real bear, or so the legend goes.

I'm sure you can find an auction featuring a TV from the CVN-73...

That TV looks awesome!!!!

I wonder who bought it,they didnt update the article......

What kind of TV is that??? It does not look like a CRT!

I'm not 100% sure but I think that early TVs had an upward facing CRT showing the picture in reverse and a mirror in the open lid displaying everything the right way round.
It might have been a somewhat more sophisticated method, ie using optics of one sort or another, but you get the drift.
Early CRTs were very long devices and would have been difficult to accommodate horizontally.

This was the blueprint for later projection TVs.

Won't receive a picture. Doesn't have a digital tuner.

...and it would have only worked on the original 405 line standard in VHF Band 1 both of which were abandoned decades ago.

Apart from that, it's perfect in every respect. ;)

MZTV wanted it for display in the museum.
Dude111 • Mar 18, 2017 2:12 am
Very nice...... I wonder if they would ever let it go? (If someone offered them enough $$$$$$)
xoxoxoBruce • Mar 18, 2017 10:59 am
Who would let it go? The museum?
Dude111 • Mar 18, 2017 5:06 pm
Ya if someone came along and offered 50k or example.......
xoxoxoBruce • Mar 18, 2017 8:15 pm
