PDF to Excel?

Does anyone know if you can convert a PDF to Excel (or text or whatever)?

I'm not sure why but they do a lot of reports the old way: checking student by student. I want to work some Excel magic but have only a PDF to work with. Before I ask for another format, does anyone know if it's possible to convert the PDF? I'm not finding anything in help, and am inclined it may be not do-able or very difficult, but I thought this would be a good opportunity to find out for future instances as well, before breaking down and asking dude for another report.

edit: Just figured out (duh) I can do it with a cut and paste and texting to new columns...anyone know an easier way?

Convert PDF to Word Doc? (ZAMZAR Free Online File Conversion) Copy/Paste to Excel, then Data/Text to Columns.

Heh, I should have looked for an existing thread.

Thanks Flint.

I expect too much from it, but I just feel it never applies itself, and could be anything it wanted to be if only it would try.

You actually get letters like this?

Dear footfootfoot:

Please start applying yourself. As it is, you suck.
