Fruzzed up my laptop....the bastard!!

After spending an hour on the phone to some lovely sounding South African dude :::::swooooooon:::::, we found a point to restore back to that wasnt effed up.

Apparently it has been giving a lotta people the poos.

So Service Pack 1 is about the same piece of shit as the original OS, then?

Installed for me without a hitch.

Didn't even have to look sternly at the machine.

Vista was a cow of an OS for me when we first got it, but now that it's had all its updates it seems to run fairly well. In fact, I have far less crashes with it than I ever have had with other OS's.

Overall I'm happy with it now, but for the first few months I could have ripped my hair out. Probably didn't help that we got this new comp right when Vista was first released.

How much memory do you have installed? I've heard that Vista gets pissy unless it gets lots of elbow room.
