Okay, I'm stumped...

I use WinXP, and Office 2K, and all day long, I've been getting error messages when I attempt to send emails. I can GET my mail, but I can't send anything.

And when I try to send my email at my ISP's website, it goes through without a problem. (I can even send to myself there).

Any ideas?

What's the error?

Being able to receive but not send is often a relaying problem. Most responsible email servers refuse to send email between two parties both of whom are "outside" its domain. So for example if you have a work email server and you're sending from your home ISP, unless there's an exception on the work email server, it probably won't allow the relay. You'd fix this by finding a way to authenticate yourself to the mail server (if it supports it) or by using a different server (usually the one provided by the ISP you're connected to).

I have had that problem quite recently, I was able to receive mail but not send it. When I contacted the ISP's, they claimed they could send mail from my address and didnt see a problem. I would think that their is some type of virus on there because the day i ahd the error, I ran a virus check, it detected one and deleted it, didnt have a problem after that, might be some help?
