Further proof of my technological retardation

All week, I've been planning to go out and buy the new Ministry CD, which happens to be available on DVD-Audio.

So, last night, I went to both Tower and Best Buy. In both cases, I got stupid looks and "No, we don't have it."

Needless to say, I was disappointed. However, it's a good thing that I wasn't able to buy it.

You see, sycamore just thought that this DVD-Audio would be able to play in his standard CD player with no problem. Then he looked around the web...and discovered that CD players cannot currently play DVD-Audio. Then, he further found out that some DVD players cannot play DVD-Audio (since many of them are just DVD-Video). Lo and behold, sycamore's DVD player does not support DVD-Audio. (Though I imagine it would still play the extra features on the DVD.)

I'll now go and just buy the $13 CD. And I'll hold off on that new DVD player or the DVD-Audio format, as it is not needed in this household right now.
