The Showerhead

Well, the in-laws were in town a few weeks ago, and that means one thing in particular...free stuff.

One thing that we (Rho in particular) have wanted for some time is a detachable showerhead (you know...one attached to a hose that goes to the water source). Because of the location of Rho's dialysis catheter, her doctors told her that it was not a good idea to take a standard shower (water in catheter=bad). Apparently, a compromise was reached on a detachable showerhead. So, when the in-laws offered to buy us some stuff for the apartment, that was the first thing Rho mentioned. (I wanted a computer desk, but that is my birthday present when my mom comes to Philadelphia in October. )

So, we headed to Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and found a nice simple device for about $20 or so. And it's pretty neat. It has two settings--standard and pulsating/jet spray. It's kinda weird b/c it always pulsates...you can see it, but don't feel it when you have it on standard setting. And you can tell that our old showerhead (which had probably been there since Jesus was a child) was ready to be retired. When I first used it, I thought I was going to drown.

As an added bonus, we got a new bathmat. We had a plastic natural suction one that we bought when we first moved here. Now we have this PVC one that feels like an air sole in a shoe...very comfortable...and it stays in place (unlike our old one). Happiness all around.

(What were you expecting? A Ham-fisted thread? )

Well, no, we already had a dham showerhead thread. I don't recall anything in it about fisting, though.

Yeah, my showerhead has two settings too. However, with our shitty water pressure, what I get is either water dribbling out of lots of small holes or water dribbling out of a few big holes.

Building my own private water tower in the back yard is next on my to-do list.

You had to be quick to see it, Maggie. Apparently he was playing Quake and got his typing-on-the-Cellar computer mixed up with his chatting-on-IRC computer.

He thought he was in some IRC p0rn/wAr3z channel and posted this lengthy bit about "taking the gerbils for a swim" and "every man's ultimate goal -- self-fisting". He quickly realized his mistake, however, then changed it to a post about a turkey Subway and wrote "Edit: fixed typos" at the bottom.

That says it all.

Yet SOMEHOW I doubt this is going to be the last post on the subject.

The minute we bought that showerhead, I immediately thought of your thread, and decided to create my own showerhead thread. No offense meant, of course. Plus, I knew that it would get some views...call me an attention whore.

And yet, I would say it's better to share too much information than not to share any information at all.

So...you're not actually an attention whore. More like an attention tease. :-)

We've had Shower Massage heads here at the homestead all along, so dham's thread is remebered every bathtime. I still maintain they're more fun for us girl-types.

Just remeber...words mean exactly what the speaker meant by them, and never anything more.

*imagines going to Frankford Terminal tomorrow and seeing an El train made of turkey* It'd probably be good, but everyone would be sleepy.

If we stop sharing this kind of information, the terrorists have won.

*edit- * adds an apology for not having noticed this thread sooner.

LOL.

You know, I've tried telling that joke to various other people in real life, and they just never get it. It's a real shame, 'cause I think it's hilarious. I guess it's one of those Cellar-only kinda things.
