I would be more than happy with a fiscal conservative/social moderate-to-liberal in the White House next year.

Democrats have to spend a lot to pay off the debts and repair the damages from the previous Republican administration.

How Big is a Trillion?
In the U.S., one trillion is written as the number "1" followed by 12 zeros (1,000,000,000,000). One year of clock time = (60sec/min) x (60 min/hr) x (24 hr/da) x (365.25 da) = 3.16 x 107 sec One trillion seconds of ordinary clock time = ( 1012 sec)/( 3.16 x 107 sec/yr) = 31,546 years!

The world has about $5.7 trillion in currency. Does that put some perspective on the costs? Once someone suggested "Mission Accomplished" would cost $400 billion. Others scoffed. Amazing how those 'scoffer' are not scoffing anymore. We have long since passed the $400 billion mark.
Remember, Desert Storm (liberation of Kuwait) costs the US almost nothing. Because the US was responsible, then the world paid for most of those costs. Japan was the biggest bill payer. Somehow our wacko extremist administration forgets that Desert Storm was fought almost for free. They forget why we paid so little to liberate Kuwait. They hope you have no idea what $1 trillion is - your mortgaged future. |

Desert Storm:
The cost of the war to the United States was calculated by the United States Congress to be $61.1 billion.[8]. About $52 billion of that amount was paid by different countries around the world: $36 billion by Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and other Persian Gulf States; $16 billion by Germany and Japan (which sent no combat forces due to terms contained in the treaty that ended World War II).[9] About 25% of Saudi Arabia's contribution was paid in the form of in-kind services to the troops, such as food and transportation.[10] U.S. troops represented about 74% of the combined force, and the global cost was therefore higher.

Do you think it would have gone better if the world were all a part of it.

And even after this, just watch - all the candidates will promise to lower taxes.
It's magic, kids! Oh-ho-ho, what's this behind your ear? Oh look! 4 trillion quarters!

C'mon people, you're missing the upside.
Think of all the glee this will bring Cheney's boardroom buddies. Think of all the Americans that would have never had a chance to see Iraq. Think of all the soldiers that would have missed out on happy reunions with families, that had been struggling to make ends meet. Think of the wounded soldiers that would not have met their soul-mates, nursing in VA hospitals. Think of the wonderful bond between us and the next ten generations that will be paying this bill.
