Bionic Woman
This is the first of a new movement in medicine, completely artificial robotic replacements for failed or amutated body parts. And what more fitting start than the very first neuralmoterprosthetic to be installed on a patient.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbCN9L6ApU4 The video is a little misleading, commenting that she has to flex her chest muscles to make the arm move, but they have basically re-routed the nerves from her arm and grounded them so that she has the sensation of contracting a muscle (helps greatly with the learning curve for her augmentation). They have also greatly reduced the capabilities of the arm I'm saddened to say, I guess they want to start her with limited capabilities and work her into more complicated motions such as digit control. The future begins now.
