How much does it use? (too lazy to look up)
Nevermind. It takes 48 mins. just for me to save it to my desktop. Naaah! Just tell me how you like it blue.

dilemma solved in another way. for now. Might be back with some more questions later.
Thanks to all who helped--I'm going to try a few suggestions here when I have a chance, primarily about using the Acrobat to extract and save individual pages.

Okay, I just finished installing Elements. It looks like it can open PDFs the same way the full version of Photoshop does.
Instead of trying to open the PDF through the window that comes up when you launch Elements, close that window and choose Open from the File menu on the menu bar. Browse for your multi-page PDF in the dialog box that comes up, and open it. An "Import PDF" window will come up, allowing you to choose which page you want, plus a few other options like size, resolution, etc. You might want to "flatten" it in the Layers menu before working on the page/image. You can save it as a PSD or JPEG or whatever format you need. |

I am surprised how much you can do in it, being a limited version and all.

I have Photoshop Elements 6, which is about a $300 program (7 is a newer release). It's fully featured for my purposes. It has the Organizer, which I primarily use, because I cannot alter photos which we use as evidence.

I would do a trial on something a little complex and awesome from that site if I were testing. Like photoshop itself or illustrator. But, that's just me.
Definitely let us know how it turns out!

The plugins should work as well as in the paid-up version. However, some Photoshop plugins won't work with Photoshop Elements.

Yes, I had 4.0 through 5.5, but because I really wasn't willing to spend the time, or had the need, to become proficient with all the bells and whistles, I found it slow and cumbersome.
When I bought a piece of hardware that had Elements on the software disc, for free, I tried it and found it would do way more than I needed/wanted. Sizing, color/contrast adjusting, arrows, talk bubbles, special effects, etc, are fairly easy to do, and the program is much smaller, so it takes less memory and loads faster. It works for me, but remember, I'm no photo manipulating expert. ![]()
