Yep, but the temps here aren't too bad, seldom any snow.

Hey...there's no reason why you can't pan fry and steak and have it taste delicious.

I love grilled food. If I had a grill, you better believe I would be out there in any weather to slap the meat on the heat.

Seriously, though -- the essence of proper bbq flavor is the smoke.
That amount of smoke inside the kitchen can be, well, darn noisy until you open the smoke detector's casing. You'd want a very effective exhaust fan...

I never have the meat on the pan long enough to create too much smoke.
![]() We do have a good rangehood on the stove though, so that helps.

This is my first post to the forum. Didn't see anywhere to do an intro but saw the "man meat" subject line and... well... figured that was as good a place as any to start.
Anyway, this reminded me of a funny scene I witnessed once and since it's bbq related I figured I'd go ahead and share. So I used to live right across the way from a fire station. My living room window overlooked the back of the station where the firemen would often gather and bbq, etc... Well, one day the bbq got a little out of hand and hearty flames were flying. I wouldn't have known this except I heard these squeals and screams like a bunch of little girls. So I look out the window and lo and behold there are three firemen outside running around the bbq trying to calm the flames and screaming and flailing about like five year olds in pig tails. I about peed myself. Writing it down doesn't do it justice but I'll tell ya, it was a priceless moment. |
