I love it that in German, Schmuck means jewelry. You walk down the streets of cities there, and there are windows full of shiny bling with the huge word SCHMUCK printed over them. It always made me silently agree with them. Anyone who spends a king's ransom on shiny bits of metal or glittery rocks is a schmuck indeed.
