You donate a bag of clothes to the thrift store that look like the concept of cleaning them never occurred to you in the six years you have been wearing them. Who the fuck do you think is so badly off they are going to buy them? Even starving lepers in Antarctica would reject them. Sure, take your receipt for your tax deduction. I hope you get audited.

I don't know about how they do things 'round your way but in NY and VT thrift stores are required to wash clothes before they sell them, even if they are clean.
