I lived there for a year as a lad. If you have time to sight see, I would recommend Sabino Canyon, the Desert Museum zoo, and Old Tucson movie studios, in that order. You need a car for all three. If you have a lot of time, Kitt Peak observatory is really cool to tour. And I've never been there but I think there is an airplane museum now in Tucson.

Davis-Monthan AFB is just outside Tucson, I think. That's where the giagantic aircraft boneyard is.

I wouldn't think just any ol' civilian can go in there, though.
