So You're Going to Die

Cellar member Kirk Israel has written, "So You're Going to Die", the Skeptical Nerd's Comic Guide to Coping with Your Own Mortality, and with James Harvey's illustrations, created a first class piece.

Knowing that you will someday die can be rough! People have told us that this book has helped them find solace, and so we're exploring different publishing options to let people know that there are comforting philosophies and thoughts to be had.
Trust me, you'll at the very least be entertained, probably more.

I like it. He writes about a lot of angst he's experienced about death.

I don't really have much angst. Not for religious reasons, or anything like that. Just that death is nothing. You're alive, and then you're not. "Death" is a word that the living use to describe those who are gone. It's not something that anyone experiences. It doesn't actually exist There is only life.

I don't much like death because my experience with it has been that I miss my loved ones who are dead. And of course, I'm not ready for life to end yet. But death is literally nothing. And so it's nothing to fear. At least for me.

I don't remember a Kirk Israel. But looking back over his old posts, it's too bad he doesn't come around any more.

My big regret is that when I die I will not get to see some of the younger members of my family grow up and experience life. At 67 with C.H.F. I could be here many more years or I could go tomorrow, No make that next week, I don't want to miss the 'Train Meet'. 2 of my grandkids will probably come down for part of one day.

There's never a convenient time.

I have no fear of death because I have a friend in Jesus. And I am going to heaven.

What is your friend doing in Jesus? Or shouldn't one ask?

It's not the dying I have concerns about, but I'm really not looking forward to the journey as the destination gets closer. I'd rather hop on the TGV at the last minute that take a scenic ride on an all-stops local train.

Everyone should be so lucky as to die in Sherry's arms.

I wish you'd let it die.

You know if Buster died and came back to haunt us, he'd be a Ghost Buster!
