'Canada Geese are protected under the Migratory Birds Convention Act, 1994 (MBCA). This Act arose from an international treaty -- the Migratory Birds Convention -- between Canada and the United States, signed in 1916'

Environment Canada is well aware of concerns raised by the geese population in this country. They go on to list in varying degrees, frustrations various groups have had with droppings, aggressive behavior at airports, golf courses and offer information on how to 'manage' your situation.

I doubt they knew in 1916, what a mess they were creating for future generations. I say have an open season.
