Momdigr's hostas are only like 1-2 feet across (several years old). She says they're supposed to be separated every year, but, she doesn't do that.
Maybe that's why her's are small? I assume that you aren't in a (too) small pot? Momdigr's are in the ground, in the shade. One is lint-covered, all are ragged.
