If his conviction was 11 years ago, maybe he has moved on with his life and is making a new one for himself. Which might include not giving full information to people he doesn't want to find him online.
Just saying, he made a schoolboy error in making the call and not leaving a message if he is still in the criminal business. You're a lovely looking lady, it's quite legitimate he just has a crush.
