I never watched much of the original Star Trek series.
By the time it was being repeated here it was already dated. Imagine my surprise today when a random article informed me that Ensign Chekov was Russian. I thought he was Scottish! Yes, there's the name and all that. But the accent threw me. Blame Sean Connery, with his vast repertoire of foreign accents. I think everyone sounds Scottish.
