His friendship with "K" is real. What I worry about is his marriage. Where is his wife during his GoT texting date night? Sitting next to him, being left out of the jokes? Or does she hate his favorite show so much that she can't stand to watch it with him? And he claims he has her permission to "smooch" K if he ever meets her in real life. Very very few marriages actually work like that, and even fewer of those succeed long term.

But the online relationship is real, no doubt.

I read that whole thing, but obviously not closely enough. I never picked up that he was married. What's he doing having a virtual date night every week with another woman if he's married?

I thought it was two women too! And when I read about Gini's lap, I figured that was just the woman mistyping that a cat was in her lap. By the time there was talk of the wife at the end, I was skimming and must have assumed it was a playful way of talking about the online friend as a wife because they were so close.

The writing style was asking to be skimmed.

What a small world they must live in, to have to touch and sniff someone to feel connected to them. To be restricted to such a physical, mundane quality before they can clasp hands and trust.

His point is absolutely valid, though. You CAN have efriends. I have several.

I cried real tears on multiple occasions (I'm a little misty right now, in fact) when Claudette died. proof enough for me.
