If the products are so good - so tasty - then why is the company going bankrupt? Listen to jobs needed on that assembly line. One long time employee was doing the 'Twinkie Straighter' job. Yes their equipment does not put freshly baked Twinkies always in the right position. Rather than fix the equipment, business school graduates decided it was better to have a human correct the machine's mistakes.
Due to bad management (and bad management also blames the employees), then even manufacturing equipment could not be fixed or upgraded. According to spread sheets, it was cheaper to create a job called a Twinkie Straightener. No "Wonder" Hostess top management was getting robust income increases. It was the union's fault. |
