I drive on the Hwy 130 toll road at least once or twice a week. The new section is at the south end, but the north end it's been extending from has been open for years, and the speed increase applies to the whole thing. The reason they made the speed limit so high (besides the fact that it's Texas and we gotta whip out our dicks whenever we can) is because no one is driving on it. It was built so 18-wheeler traffic could skirt around Austin and not contribute to the very bad congestion problems on I-35, but the truckers said, "A toll? Fuck you very much," and they don't use it at all. So the DoT is dangling the carrot that you could save even more time now, if you take the tollway.

Except the joke is on them, because everyone is already going that fast on the road anyway. Most of it is elevated, and you can see for miles into the distance, so speed traps are impossible.
