I have no problem with songs about christianity, or which come from a christian perspective...as long as they're good songs with good music. If they feel honest, I think. If I feel like they're preaching to me in a manipulative way then I switch off.

Any lyrics, from any group/song, are not a message from any deitymystical power. If they're words that express what you believe is a good idea, fine. People get inspiration from shithouse walls, as well as fine literature. But they are not commands from anyone, nor were they written expressly for you.

Probably the best use of lyrics, other than accompanying the music, is to quote when they express your idea more eloquently than you can on your own. But you risk the person hearing you, not being sure if it's really your feelings.
