My daughter is entering the field and we know more than a few here. They are telling us otherwise - at least for this area.
Aside from that, there have been a lot more people getting degrees in EDU than there have been positions available. The districts have also been placing lower paid aides in classrooms into positions that were once held by teachers... something about cost cutting.
