The sound of waves crashing.
The wind blowing through the trees. A baby's giggle. |

Can't believe I missed this thread!
My List of Nice Things is very sensory. I could do this all day. Rain on canvas A genteel tearoom (hiss and gurgle and forks on plates and low chatter) The racheting sound of a rollercoaster going up the first hill A purring cat Thunder The wind through trees (and no, no one favourite - many many many)

"Here's a lot of money for you, Brianna!"
is my favorite sound. I also like rain on cottage roofs, thunderstorms, wind in the willows, babbling brooks, and most animal noises.

Good call on the money quote!
Would you like the animal noises coming from my bedroom this morning I wonder? The sound of me checking the time on the clock across the room. Switching off my alarm (5 minutes to go) and the Diz cat creeping up for a snuggle. Then a CHOMP, a wail and the scramble of the little shit making a run for it AFTER BITING MY NIPPLE! Yes it was a cool morning. Yes the duvet had slipped off. And yes it might have looked tempting. But I spooked him enough not to have a repeat performance. I HOPE. I am not a masochist or a cat-botherer (in that sense) And I don't appreciate anyone or anything doing that unannounced.

We have virtually no sounds where we are at night. The birds don't seem to roost in town, and most of the scampering things tend to go hunting in the cane on the outskirts. There are no major roads nearby either. We hear frogs sometimes, but in general, it's dead silence here during the night. I love it.

The sound of the dentist's drill!
Just kidding... The voices of my younger grand children saying "I love you grandpa!" Funny but the older kids don't seem to say it anymore... ![]() |

A big ol' lumpy cammed, big block Chevrolet, through a pair of those classic, old, glass pack mufflers. Idling, on the line.
ba-la-lop-ba-la-loplop-ba-la-lop-ba-la-loplop Sounds like the first ten seconds of this vid:

1. The sound of my dearest friend's voice, preferably when she is improvising jazz vocals or singing her own lyrics, going from mellow to rasping, from furious to caressing.
2. The sound of British English when I'm lost on a rainy day in a tourist crowd at Niagara Falls (true story) 3. A babbling brook in a winter forest to the accompaniment of a saxophonist and a percussionist: Schwarzwaldfahrt |

MB giggling. He often has a bemused expression and a very silly sense of humor, but doesn't laugh out loud very much. So, it's a rare treat when he does.
