Imagine what we find in this country when digging out foundations!?
Viking longships and Roman burial pits and all sorts. Big business rules of course, and it barely delays progress. But if a company is large enough to have an eye on PR they will often preserve something like a Roman mosaic for the public to view. We're spoiled of course - like Egyptians using stones from the pyramids, or Romans using marble from temples.
