Late Monday afternoon, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) called for a congressional ethics investigation of Mr. Weiner. Ms. Pelosi said in a statement she was "deeply disappointed and saddened about this situation."

Fighting back tears at a New York news conference, the Democratic congressman said he lied last week when he repeatedly claimed not to have sent a photo of a man's crotch in bulging underwear to a female college student in Seattle.

"I have not been honest with myself, my family, my constituents, my friends, my supporters, and the media,'' said Mr. Weiner.

He said he has engaged in illicit conversations with about six women in recent years online. He said he never met any of the women.

"I haven't told the truth,'' he said. "I apologize to my wife and our families… I am deeply ashamed.''

Nother lying politician. Frickin' frack! I really liked him too. WTF was he thinking?
"Of course there are no plans to resign... " That shouldn't even be an option.
