If I was the wife, I'd be pissed. If he was running for reelection, and I could vote in that election, I'd consider it along with everything else, and it would count against him. But I'm not any of those things, so I don't care.

I don't care if a politician lies to me about their personal life. It's none of my damn business. John Edwards had a love child? I don't care. He illegally used campaign contributions to pay the woman off, or something like that? Then I care.

If they lie about something related to their job, then it matters.
