occasionally I buy a women's fashion magazine. In the latest issue of Vogue (or was it Elle?) I swear, HALF the issue was devoted to fancy shoe ads.

And when I say "fancy" I mean shoes costing hundreds of dollars, some in the thousands. Shoes I couldn't fit in even if I had the money. Shoes that would hurt excruciatingly even if I could fit in them and had the money for.

Why? Why the obsession over shoes? Just . . . (scratches head)
