It's some kind of paper. You can see the upper edge was torn off with one of those metal knives embedded in the side of a box. It looks too dark to be parchment paper, which would be the obvious guess, unless it's burnt. Kraft paper?

It's definitely the logo of the appliance company, not the bread company. It looks like a water mark or a very old version of the logo.
