Back to the OP, I've missed much of what has been going on.
I saw some sniping, it made me uncomfortable, I withdrew.
I've never had a prblem with Classic - he wasn't of my political flavour, but he seemed a decent chap. But recently it seems he was embroiled in issues that should never have ended up in threads. And it takes two to tango. And more, in a strange online way.

I think it's sad that politics can prevent people from getting along.
Also that personal agendas can be pursued across threads.
And I have always hated the Treehouse Club assertation - I've seen it again recently from Dwellars I like and admire. And I don't really get it. Many so-called alliances are formed because people feel the same way. So if one Dwellar speaks out about a specific post and another follows, is that being up someone's arse, or sharing the same reasons for disapproval? Is it an organised attack or just a number of people who want to protest?

This whole "Of course you'd say that, you like so-and-so" is what I expect from children.
Which is not to say I have adult views - I've reconsidered many posts before sending recently, and some of them have been very childish.
One of the reasons I've loved the Cellar these last five years is that it brings me into contact with people with varying viewpoints. And none seem to dominate. What I grimace at now is that separate camps seem to believe they are being penalised and the others given free rein.

We're still a collection of individuals. There is no active conspiracy. You like some people, you don't like others. You agree with some people, you disagree with others. Some girls believe they have only prostitution to look forward to, most don't.

Meh. If anyone reads this I'm probably preaching to the converted. Or people who believe they are above all this. As do I. Mea culpa.
