Where's the harm? Dogs only live for a dozen or so years anyway. He'll be dead decades before any cancer shows up.

Dogs contract and die of cancer all the time.

yeah, sadly, my cousin's dog died from cancer a couple of months ago at only 5 years old. She was a lab, the vet said apparently 1 in 8 labs get cancer and it's on the rise.
