I find the Wii a little annoying when it comes to turning it off. You can't turn it off with the remote, you can only put it into standby mode. And to turn it off at the console itself, you have to press and hold the power button for several seconds.

I discovered this when I accidentally touched it once when I thought it was turned off, and it was very warm. The power indicator LED was orange instead of green, so I thought it was off. But you need to press and hold the power button to get the LED to turn to red to show it's off and then it won't be warm to the touch anymore. I wonder how much power it uses in standby mode instead of when it's off? You can always turn it back on again with the remote, so I don't know why there even is a standby mode.
