Actually, the car does belong to "Stevie" the pitch man. All paid for. And it made a handy prop.

I think he just wanted to show it off!

Tell you what, the guy is really lovable. Kind of obnoxious sometimes, but generous to a fault and everyone adores him. The car was given to him by his ex-girlfriend's father; apparently he kept in contact after breaking it off with the girl, ex's father liked him a whole bunch and knew he greatly admired the car. Ex's father is ill and in the process of passing out his earthly possessions, so he gave Steve this amazing car.
