I love micronations. A friend of mine has declared the interior of his car to be an independent nation. He figures that if he ever gets a ticket, the paperwork will constitute an implicit recognition of its status.

Really? I have determined that me and my personal space is sovereign, and all threats to it are an offense! I might start writing tickets to offenders of my sovereign nation.:p My nation is roaming. The first of it's kind. (outside of your friend that also appears to have a roaming micro-nation)

I think Cambridge University is similar.

IIRC, there is a rule at Cambridge that all professors must be in residence at all times, except very limited leave holidays. It being impossible to do this in the modern academic world with conferences and furloughs etc, they got around it by declaring that Cambridge university is present wherever a Cambridge professor is. So I have, threfore, visited Cambridge.
