Finally and surprisingly someone invented a sheet that goes in the washer and on to the dryer eliminating the need for separate soap and softener.

I distrust that particular labor-saving device. First, it seems the height of laziness. Second, I have used Purex liquid products because they were cheaper and found they did not match the performance of the higher-priced name brands.

I just thought it was surprising I think Purex sucks would not waste $$ on their products.

Did you know that you can make your own laundry detergent for about 5 cents a wash? And use vinegar instead of softener?

I've done both - used to make the laundry soap all the time. Now I have to use up all the cleaning supplies that came with our water softener (came with "five years' worth" of the stuff, the salesman said) but when it's gone I'm going back to the DIY glop in a bucket.

I'll send you the recipe if anyone's interested. Of course it's all over teh webz.
